Rape of three year child: Railways to increase vigil at Tatanagar, to focus on CCTVs

Jamshedpur, August 1 : Following the incident of three year old  girl who was stolen from Tatanagar railway station and was later raped and killed , the railway police is working on ways of strictly monitoring of CCTV cameras at the railway station. At present Tatanagar railway station is equipped with 96 CCTV cameras. 
The railway police said that they monitor the footage of the CCTV cameras round-the-clock from a control room.

Inspector, Railway Protection Force (RPF) MK Sahoo said that the personnel of RPF are active to  prevent  criminal acts like pickpocket, luggage lifting or snatching.

” We are monitoring screen of the CCTV round the clock for taking notice of any criminal moving suspiciously on the platform,” claimed the RPF inspector.
Sahoo said so far as the act of stealing the three-year-old baby is concerned, how could the RPF personnel who were on duty of monitoring the CCTV camera footage determined the person lifting the child was not a relative.
“We are keep strict vigil but if anyone lifts a child from the lap of a woman’s lap, it is difficult to conclude that the person is a child-thief.  But now we will launch awareness campaign among the people at the railway platform against the child lifting case,” the RPF inspector said.
The three-year-old girl was stolen from her mother’s lap at Tatanagar station platform No 2 on the night of July 25, leading the young woman to lodge a complaint with the GRP, Tatanagar  the next day.

The child was lifted while her mother was sleeping with her paramour in the night. Five days later, the police recovered the kid’s headless body from a bush near the ISWP fabrication unit boundary wall. Rinku Kumar, the 38-year-old culprit was arrested. from his house at Ramadhin Bagan in Telco on Tuesday night. Another person, 37-year-old Kailash Kumar, who is an accomplice of Sahu, was also arrested for being involved in the ghastly incident.
The Chhotanagarpur Passengers Association’s (CPA) secretary Arun Tiwary had shared video clipping through social media as to how do a couple come to a platform during the night and steal a baby boy from the lap of a sleeping mother at a railway platform of an unidentified railway station.
