Rape case registered against Jamshedpur cop after court’s order

SI had raped woman for three days, threatened of dire consequences

Jamshedpur: A case of rape has been registered against SI Bimal Kumar, currently posted at Bodam police station in rural area of Jamshedpur, on the orders of East Singhbhum SSP Prabhat Kumar at Azadnagar police station for forcibly raping a widowed laborer at a wedding ceremony.

The incident is of Azadnagar police station area, so a case has been registered against the accused inspector on the orders of the SSP.

Earlier, the woman had filed a case of complaint against the sub-inspector Vimal in the court against the sub-inspector and others. On the order of the court, the Birsanagar section was directed to register an FIR in the matter and investigate the matter, but the matter is pending in the Birsanagar police station. However, the Azadnagar police started investigating the matter by registering an FIR against the accused inspector.

The victim woman is basically a resident of Gamharia  in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. The woman alleges that on the day of the incident, she had gone to do the work of washing dishes as a laborer in a marriage ceremony.

On April 16, 2022, at 11.30 pm in a flat on Old Purulia Road, Azadnagar, the inspector made him a victim of his lust. On protesting, he threatened to kill along with assault. The woman alleged that she was raped for three days, kept locked in the flat.

The widow has said in the case that Daroga Bimal Kumar had taken her to Jugsalai at 8 pm on April 18, 2022 in a car after raping her for three days. After this, she somehow reached her maternal home and informed about the incident. After reaching the woman’s house, the inspector threatened her.

The inspector was accused that he reached Mirudih along with his police colleagues and threatened to kill him.

The victim of the lust of the inspector had become pregnant and gave birth to a child on December 1, 2022: The victim woman gave birth to a child on December 1, 2022. Only after this the matter caught fire.

On January 31, 2023, the SP and Azadnagar police station registered on behalf of the woman and informed about the entire incident. Here, in the whole case, the accused inspector has told his innocence and accused the woman of implicating him in a false case.
