Also ranked 17th in JEE Main; credits badminton and consistent effort for success
Ranchi: Mohammad Anas from Ranchi has made Jharkhand proud by securing All India Rank (AIR) 42 in the JEE Advanced 2025 examination. The results were officially declared by IIT Kanpur, the organizing institute for this year’s JEE Advanced.
Anas, who completed his early schooling in Ranchi, later moved to Kota to pursue intensive coaching for the Joint Entrance Examination. His dedication paid off not just in JEE Advanced but also earlier in JEE Main 2025, where he had secured an impressive AIR 17, setting the stage for his success in the second phase.
“This journey that started from the narrow streets of Ranchi to Kota’s competitive atmosphere has now brought me to the gates of the country’s top engineering institutes,” said Anas, reflecting on his achievement. He added that his ambition to crack the IIT entrance began while he was still in school, and he remained focused throughout the journey.
To manage the stress of rigorous study schedules, Anas turned to badminton as a source of relaxation. “Whenever I felt burdened by studies, I picked up the racket and headed to the court. It helped me regain focus and stay mentally refreshed,” he said. Apart from academics, he has also represented Jharkhand in Science and Mathematics Olympiads, showcasing a multifaceted personality.
Anas’ story is not only about academic brilliance but also about balanced living, consistent effort, and mental resilience.
This year, the top position in JEE Advanced 2025 was secured by Rajit Gupta, a resident of Kota, Rajasthan. Rajit scored 332 out of 360 marks. He belongs to the IIT Delhi zone and comes from an academically strong family—his father is an engineer and his mother is a professor.
The application process for JEE Advanced 2025 began on April 23 and continued till May 2. The exam was held on May 18, and results were announced shortly after, revealing the stories of dedication and dreams fulfilled.
