Ranchi University proposes Academic Calendar with holidays for 2024

Ranchi: Ranchi University, following the directives of the Governor, has submitted the academic and examination calendar, including holidays, to Raj Bhavan. The proposal outlines a total of 69 days of holidays in colleges and 53 days in offices for the year 2024.
Key points from the proposed holiday calendar:
New Year’s Day: A holiday in colleges is scheduled for January 1st.
Summer Vacation: From June 1 to June 20, colleges will observe summer vacation.
Winter Vacation: Winter vacation is planned from December 24 to December 31.
Durga Puja Holiday: A six-day holiday for Durga Puja is proposed, spanning from October 7 to October 12.
Festival Holiday Block: Dhanteras, Diwali, Chitragupta Puja, and Chhath Puja will collectively account for a 12-day holiday block from October 28 to November 9.
Holi Holiday: A two-day holiday for Holi is set for March 25 and March 26.
Eid ul Fitr and Sarhul Holiday: Both holidays are scheduled for two days, i.e., April 11-12.
Restricted Holidays: Tusu festival on January 16, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti on January 17, Easter Monday on April 1, and Eid ul Joha on June 18 will be observed as restricted holidays.
Special Occasions on Sundays: Sohrai, Shab-e-Barat, Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Hool Diwas, and Rath Yatra are on Sundays.
The proposed calendar aims to balance academic schedules with cultural and religious observances, providing students and faculty with a well-structured and inclusive plan for the academic year 2024.
