Ranchi, July 26: The BCCI has unveiled the schedule for the International Home Season 2023-24, and Ranchi’s JSCA International Stadium will be hosting the fourth Test between India and England from February 23 to February 27, 2024.
The Technical Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the venues for the domestic season 2023-24. JSCA International Stadium has previously hosted two test matches. The first Test against Australia in 2017 ended in a draw, while the second Test against South Africa in October 2019 resulted in an impressive victory for India, with an innings and 202 runs.
In the upcoming New Year, India will welcome Afghanistan for their first white-ball bilateral tour. The three-match T20I series will be held in Mohali and Indore, with the final match scheduled to take place in Bengaluru, the venue where Afghanistan played their first-ever Test match.
Following the T20I series, India will gear up for a five-match Test series against England starting on January 25, 2024. The Test matches will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamshala.
The senior men’s team is set to play a total of 16 international matches, including 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20s. The venues have been allotted based on the BCCI venue rotation policy, with a committee comprising Amitabh Vijayvargiya, Jayendra Sehgal, and Hari Narayan Pujari overseeing the process.
The home season will commence in September, with India hosting Australia for a three-match ODI series ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The ODI matches will be held in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot. After the 50-over World Cup, India will take on Australia in a five-match T20I series starting on November 23 in Vizag and concluding on December 3 in Hyderabad.
