Ranchi, Feb 9: In a major infrastructure boost, Ranchi is set to get its first-ever 10-lane road, a project worth Rs 301 crore aimed at decongesting city traffic. The road will stretch from Vivekananda School in Dhurva to the Ring Road via Nayasarai. The project, which has received technical approval, will be developed using modern technology to ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow.

The new road will feature a six-lane main highway for high-speed and VIP vehicles, with two-lane service roads on both sides for smaller private vehicles. Additionally, dedicated cycle tracks will be constructed, equipped with solar panels to generate electricity for street lighting. Authorities have also planned modern drainage systems and seating areas along the route to enhance urban aesthetics and convenience.

A senior government official stated, “This project will transform the city’s road network, making travel faster, safer and more organized. The integration of solar-powered lighting and cycle tracks reflects our commitment to smart and sustainable urban development.”

The 10-lane road will connect major landmarks, including Jagannathpur Temple, the High Court and the CRPF camp. While the stretch up to Nayasarai will be fully 10-lane, the road will narrow after crossing the railway line, merging into a two-lane route leading to the Ring Road. Once completed, this will be the first of its kind in Jharkhand, providing a more efficient transportation system and setting a new benchmark for future road projects in the state.
