Ranchi to get direct connectivity to Jaipur and Goa, Birsa Munda Airport expands to 31 daily flights

Winter Flight Schedule Released, New Director Focuses on Expansion and Safety

Ranchi, Oct 31: Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport will now handle 31 daily flights under its new winter schedule, which came into effect on Wednesday. The number of flights has increased from 24 to 31, with 30 arrivals and 30 departures operating every day.

The revised schedule includes new flights connecting Ranchi to Jaipur and Goa, improving the city’s air network with western and southern India. According to airport officials, the new Jaipur-Goa flight via Ranchi will soon begin operations. The flight will arrive from Jaipur at 11:00 am and depart for Goa at 11:40 am, enhancing both connectivity and convenience for passengers.

With this expansion, Ranchi is now directly linked to 12 major cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Goa, and Jaipur. The maximum number of flights will operate between Ranchi and Delhi (nine flights daily), followed by seven to Bengaluru and four each to Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Under the new schedule, flights will start at 7:10 am with the Kolkata-Ranchi-Kolkata service and conclude at 9:25 pm with the Delhi-Ranchi-Delhi flight. The updated schedule will remain effective until December 31, 2025.

Leading airlines such as IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air will continue to operate the majority of the flights. IndiGo will serve the busiest routes, including multiple flights to Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Among the notable new services are IndiGo 6E 6206/6198 (Jaipur-Goa via Ranchi) and 6E 6531/6537 (Bengaluru-Ranchi-Bengaluru). Air India Express will continue its regular IX 1105/1106 and IX 1048/1049 flights to Delhi.

Meanwhile, Vinod Kumar has assumed charge as the new Director of Birsa Munda Airport. Speaking on the occasion, he said the focus will be on improving passenger amenities and enhancing safety measures. He announced that a CAT-II landing system will soon be installed to ensure safer operations during low visibility conditions.

He also mentioned plans for airport expansion and beautification, stating that work will begin once the required land is provided by the state government.

With this revised schedule, Ranchi’s air connectivity has received a major boost, promising better accessibility for both business and leisure travellers.
