Jamshedpur: The state of Jharkhand will witness a grand welcome of the nationwide journey being taken out to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. A delegation of the Sikh community from Ranchi, led by Jharkhand State Minority Commission Vice-Chairman (Minister of State rank) Jyoti Singh Matharu, met Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday and extended an invitation to join the historic occasion.
The delegation informed the Chief Minister that a grand procession has been launched from Assam to mark the anniversary, which is touring the country and will arrive in Jharkhand. Extending an invitation, Matharu requested the Chief Minister to participate in the welcome of the sacred journey.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren assured the delegation that the state would extend a splendid reception to the procession, adding that such events enrich Jharkhand with cultural, religious and fraternal harmony.
The Sikh community has planned to receive the procession at Rampur near Ranchi. A citywide Nagar Kirtan will also be organised before the journey proceeds towards Hazaribagh via Ramgarh route.
The delegation included Gagandeep Singh Sethi, General Secretary of Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Parmjit Singh Tinku, Amarjit Singh, Harjeet Singh Swinki, Rishi Chhabra and other prominent members of the Sikh community.
