Ranchi: Three gets lifer in Agarwal brothers murder case

Ranchi, June 30: Lokesh Chaudhary, along with Dharmendra Tiwari and Sunil Singh, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Ranchi Civil Court in connection with the murder of the Aggarwal brothers.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Lokesh Chaudhary, while Dharmendra Tiwari and Sunil Singh have been fined Rs 25,000 each.

Additional Judge Vishal Srivastava presided over the hearing in the Ranchi Civil Court on Friday to determine the punishment for Lokesh Chaudhary, Dharmendra Tiwari, and Sunil Singh.

The accused were produced before the court via video conferencing.

Based on the evidence presented by the police and the statements of witnesses, the court convicted all three individuals on June 26.

According to the police, businessmen Hemant Agarwal and Mahendra Agarwal had visited Lokesh Chaudhary with a substantial amount of money in a bag.

However, Lokesh Chaudhary and MK Singh had already devised a plan to seize the money.

As part of the plan, MK Singh, accompanied by Lokesh Chaudhary’s bodyguard Dharmendra Tiwari, raided Lokesh Chaudhary’s office pretending to be IB (Intelligence Bureau) officers and confiscated the money belonging to the Aggarwal brothers.

An FIR was registered at Argora police station on March 7, 2019, in relation to this incident.

During the court proceedings, the police presented 19 witnesses to establish Lokesh Chaudhary’s guilt, while Lokesh Chaudhary did not present any witnesses to prove his innocence. However, MK Singh, the main accused in this case, remains evasive and is still wanted by the police.
