Jamshedpur: A false report accusing Jharkhand government minister Banna Gupta of sexual harassment has been circulating on social media, along with a fabricated application form. The fake document, which started going viral last night, has triggered concerns about the spread of misinformation.
In response, the Ranchi Police have issued a strong statement. Ranchi SP Rajkumar Mehta addressed a press conference, clarifying that the application being shared is entirely fake. “A fraudulent seal has been used on the document, and this is clearly an attempt to damage the reputation of Minister Banna Gupta and the Ranchi Police,” he said.
The SP assured that the matter is being investigated thoroughly. “The intent behind this is malicious, and the culprits behind the circulation of this fake application will soon be apprehended,” added SP Mehta.
The police have urged the public to avoid sharing unverified information and warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in spreading such baseless rumours.
