Ranchi, January 15: BJP MP from Ranchi Sanjay Seth has written a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren demanding to declare January 22 as a state holiday and also to ban the sale of meat and liquor in the state on that day due to consecration of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
Sanjay Seth in the letter states that that 22 January 2024 is the day in Indian history for which the people of India were waiting for centuries.
“This day has come as a good fortune to all of us after such a long struggle, sacrifice and penance. We are re-establishing our beloved Ramlala in Ayodhyadham. Our pride on this day also increases because Lord Shri Ram also had special love for Jharkhand. Jharkhand is also the birthplace of Lord Ram’s devotee Hanuman,” the letter states.
The MP said that on January 22, the entire society is spontaneously preparing to celebrate Diwali.
“Preparations are going on for many social and cultural festivals. I am confident that being the head of the state, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will also participate in this festival,” the letter adds.
Seth said that with the ban on sale of meat and liquor on January 22, people will be able to celebrate the arrival of Ram Lalla in a more emotional and virtuous manner.
Incidentally, several states have declared January 22 as a dry day prohibiting sale of liquor and also banned sale and purchase of non-vegetarian items on the day.
Significantly, Hemant Soren while interacting with media in Ranchi in December last year had said that if invitation comes for the Ayodhya Dham functions then he would surely attend it.
