Ranchi: Journalists stage dharna against killings

Ranchi: Journalists staged protest against the killing of three journalists, Navin Nishchal, Vijay Singh and Sandeep Sharma in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh in Ranchi on Tuesday. They gathered at Ranchi Press Club and staged a demonstration to demand state action to prevent a rerun of such incidents, compensation and government job for the next of kin of the slain journalists and a strong legislation to ensure safety of journalists all over the country. The protestors held aloft banners and placards with slogans denouncing the killings.

Among those present on the occasion included Rajesh Kumar Singh, Surendra Soren, Shambhu Nath Choudhary, Pramod Jha, Mithilesh Jha, Satya Prakash Pathak, Lalan Pandey, Rajan Bobby, Nitin Choudhary, Prashant Singh and Leelawati Kumari.
