Jamshedpur: A “Nagar Kirtan” was taken on from Gurdwara Sahib Ramdas Bhatta in Bistupur to mark the Shaheedi Diwas of Chote Sahibzade (youngest martyrs in the history of the world), the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, on Thursday.
The Panj Piaras led the nagar kirtan. Gatka parties, Kirtani Jathas, women in traditional white suits along with social and religious leaders accompanied the nagar kirtan.
A palanquin carrying Guru Granth Sahib was placed on a decorated four-wheeler.
Nihangs and gatka teams displayed traditional martial arts ‘gatka’ which attracted the commuters and passersby. Hundreds of devotees attended the nagar kirtan which culminated back at the Gurdwara Sahib Ramdas Bhatta at around 2 pm after which langar was served among the devotees.
It may be noted that Sahibzada Fateh Singh (1699-1705) who was the youngest of Guru Gobind Singh�s four sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh (1696-1705), his elder brother and Mata Gujar Kaur ji, his grandmother sacrificed their lives for their faith and the right to remain Sikhs.
