Jamshedpur, July 21: Three day Rakhi Mela organised by Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) began at Sakchi Agrasen Bhawan on Sunday, July 21. The Rakhi fair is being organized to provide income opportunities for women. Visitors to the exhibition-cum-sale fair are being provided to get their blood sugar levels, blood pressure and hemoglobin counts checked free of cost on all the three days of the fair. The Rakhi Mela was inaugurated by JIADA Regional Deputy Director Ranjana Mishra.

MMM Convener Prabha Padia informed that ladies apart Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad, New Delhi, Jaipur and Kolkata have set up stalls in the fair. Designer Rakhis, designer sarees, gift items, handed crafted decorative pieces, clothing for deities, jewelry and household utilities are on display and sale. Padia stated that almost every need would be available under one roof at viable prices and urged women of the city to visit the fair.
On the second day, July 22 of the Rakhi Mela a slogan competition on organ donation will be organized for ladies from 4 pm as a part of an awareness drive. The top three winners would be awarded prizes and would be provided opportunities to compete at the state and then national levels.
The organizing committee for the Rakhi Mela includes Jaya Dokania, Lata Agrawal, Vibha Dudani, Manju Khandelwal, Prabha Padiya, Bina Agrawal, Manju Musaddi, Sima Jawanpuria, Sushila Khirwal, Saraswati Agrawal, Mamata Jalan, Rani Agrawal, Seema Agarwal, Urmila Mittal, Nirmala Naredi, Lalita Saraiwala, Sumitra Agarwal, Kusum Agarwal, Satyabhaba Harnathaka and Santosh Dhoot.
