The book revolves around Sharmistha, unlike other widows of her era,
with uncried tears and a soul of steel, embarks on a journey of
bringing transition into the lives of her other widow sisters of

society but she chases in what she believes, selflessly carving a
niche for herself and the residents of her ashram. Her mission was to
nurture them to shine amongst those who never believed they could and
love themselves for who they are. Giving a new definition to their
very existence and creating women of substance where faith shall never
falter,” said Anand.

student and alumnus of St Mary’s School, Bistupur, a self-taught
artist now residing in USA, who has minutely and painstakingly
highlighted the varied communities sustaining their livelihood along
the sacred ghats of the Ganges and the age-old rugged historic
temples, through her canvas and colors that have added flavor to the
cover page of my book.”
