Jamshedpur: Senior BJP leader and former legislator Saryu Roy today accused the state energy department of trying to mislead unemployed youths of the state through a faulty advertisement inviting job applications published on 19th October last. He also requested Jharkhand governor Syed Ahmad to cancel the recruitment process immediately.
“Jharkhand Energy Development Corporation Limited had issued an advertisement in the newspapers while claiming to give jobs to 1000 people. But the advertisement does not specifically tell as to how many vacancies exist on various posts. Besides, it has been mentioned that the interview of 1000 people will be conducted on 30 and 31st October.
This is just not possible. It seems that the state energy minister Rajendra Singh and the JSEB chairman are trying to take bribe from the applicants for giving them jobs,” said Roy.
Roy further alleged that bribe amount from Rs 3 lakh up to Rs 10 lakh was being sought from the candidates. “The Model Code of Conduct is about to come into effect with the announcement of Assembly elections in Jharkhand on 1st or 2nd November.
This is why the interview is being conducted in just two days at such a short notice,” said Roy.
Roy said the advertisement should clearly mention the number of posts for which the recruitment is to take place. He said the posts should be created as per rules.
