Jamshedpur: National woman shooter Tara Shahdeo was felicitated at a function organized by the NGO Navchetan at Dhalbhum Club auditorium, Sakchi, on Wednesday.
Members of several city based outfits including Narendra Modi Youth Brigade too, felicitated the shooter.
Addressing the gathering, Tara Shahdeo spoke about her trials and tribulations in dealing with the alleged torture by her husband Ranjeet Kohli alias Raqibul Hasan and his attempt to convert her into Islam.
She said her mother had inspired her to deal with the tough times with a strong head and heart. She said her mother was no more, but still she continued to inspire her to fight for her rights.
She further said that she was very much inspired by the Indian Army and that she always wanted to be its part.
�My mother asked me to do something different in life. This inspired me to represent India in shooting at international level.
I struggled with the personal tragedy with equal strength due to the inspiration of the Indian Army and my mother,� said Shahdeo.
