Chaibasa/Manoharpur, Oct 6: A railway worker was brutally murdered last night near Posaita railway station under Manoharpur police station area. The deceased was identified as Umesh Kachhap, a resident of Posaita. He used to work as a trackman in the Railways and used to stay in the Railway Quarter at Manoharpur.
On Wednesday morning, the body of Umesh was found lying on the side of the railway line near Posaita station near rail pole number PST/1063. On receiving information about the incident, Manoharpur police station recovered the dead body and sent it to Chakradharpur for post-mortem and started investigating the matter. There is a possibility of use of a sharp weapon in the murder of Umesh Kachhap as the wound of a sharp weapon has been seen in the throat of the deceased.
The police are yet to find the killer and the reason behind the murder. Police have started investigation on all the points. According to the information received in the case, Umesh Kachhap had left for Posaita duty from Manoharpur in Saranda DMU train number 68026 down train on Tuesday evening.
