Railway owes workers Rs 14 crores!

Jamshepur: The Chakradharpur Rail Division has to pay Rs 14 crore to its employees under various heads.

This issue was raised before the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Chakradharpur by members of Railway Men�s Congress. Leading a delegation of union members, Shashi Mishra demanded urgent payment of the due amount by the Railways.

After welcoming the DRM, the union leaders apprised him of the problem emanating from withholding of the PF amount by the account department for 40 days. The DRM assured the workers of resolving the issue very soon.

Being informed about water crisis in the summer season, the DRM said, �There is a severe water crisis in the rail department. To deal with this accordingly, water tankers shall be placed in Adityapur, Bundamunda, and several other stations as per requirement. Keeping the extreme heat in consideration, cold water shall be made available for the running staff.�

Among others present during the meeting with the DRM included R.M. Rao, M.K. Pandey, D.C. S. Rao, Deepak Kumar, Preetam Lal, Kailash Kho, Pramod Kumar and Mohan Rao.
