Jamshedpur, July 10: Railway Board Chairman and CEO VK Tripathy visited Rourkela railway station on the second day of his two day tour of Chakradharpur Rail Division. He was accompanied by Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, and VK Sahu, Divisional Rail Manager, Chakradharpur, during the inspection.
Tripathy reviewed passenger amenities available at the Rourkela station and discussed various issues with the local Railway officials. He directed the officials to improve passenger amenities. He also met public representatives, other dignitaries and media-persons at the station.
Earlier, Tripathy visited Rourkela Steel Plant and discussed issues related to loading and unloading work with the company officials. He also visited the Hot Strip Mill and Raw Material Handling Plant. He later visited Bandamunda Railway Yard and Centre of Excellence.
Sources said the Chairman had inspected various passenger facilities at Jharsuguda railway station on Wednesday last. He had also visited Sardega and held meeting on coal loading with the senior officials of Mahanadi Coal Fields Limited.
