Ranchi, November 25: A high-level meeting was convened on Monday to discuss and finalize preparations for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister Hemant Soren and cabinet members of Jharkhand on November 28.
The meeting, chaired by deputy commissioner Ranchi, Varun Ranjan, was held at his Morhabadi office.
Chief secretary Alka Tiwary also reviewed the preparation of the swearing in ceremony later in the evening.
The officials gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding vehicles for the guests coming to the ceremony, catering arrangements, accommodation facilities for guests coming from other states during the ceremony and their traditional welcome, parking, traffic, movement of VIP vehicles and other facilities.
According to sources, invitations are being sent to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, CPI(ML) national general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya as well as Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir to attend the ceremony.
Hemant Soren will be the first leader to take oath as Chief Minister for the fourth time in Jharkhand. He took oath as CM for the first time on 13 July 2013 in a government formed with the support of JMM, Congress, RJD alliance.
The tenure of this government was till 23 December 2014. For the second time, he took oath on 29 December 2019. He had to resign from the post of CM after being arrested by Enforcement Directorate on 31 January 2024. After coming out on bail, he took oath as CM for the third time on 4 July 2024.
