Jamshedpur, May 18: With the enforcement of fourth phase of lockdown, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das has written to Chief Secretary of the State to exempt cloth merchants of East Singhbhum. The traders have been hit from lockdown that has been enforced due to spread of coronavirus.
In his letter, Das mentioned that a delegation of Jamshedpur Thok Vastra Vikreta Sangh had met him on May 18 and had shared with him the crisis being faced by the traders due to lockdown. The delegation had said that they are unable to sustain a living due to lockdown. The traders are not even able to pay salaries of their workers.
Das said that though East Singhbhum is under Orange Zone still the shops have been asked to close down. He said that similar on the lines of Odisha and West Bengal, the traders of East Singhbhum should be allowed to operate. He requested the Government to allow the shopkeepers to function.
