Jamshedpur, Nov 17: Former chief minister and national vice president of BJP Raghubar Das will embark on a three-day Gujarat tour from Friday. Ahead of the assembly elections in Gujarat, Das is scheduled to address several public meetings, rallies and social programmes. Das is scheduled to reach Surat on November 18.
Elections to the first and second phases of the 182-member Gujarat assembly will be held on December 1 and 5 and results will be announced on December 8. In the 2017 assembly elections BJP won in 99 seats while the Congress garnered 77 seats. Though Gujarat has been a two-pronged poll battle between the BJP and Congress, this time AAP too is making its presence felt by aggressive campaigning.
BJP officials said that Das along with the Union health and family welfare minister Mansukhbhai Mandavia will focus on the Katargam assembly segment during his visit. Das is also scheduled to meet representatives of social organizations and BJP leaders and party workers during his stay till November 20 in Gujarat. He will also take part in the party’s door-to-door campaign.
