Jamshedpur, Oct 5: In spite of the huge public outcry against the pathetic condition of NH-33 connecting Jharkhand to Odisha, the situation remains more or less the same.
Taking up the same issue, Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi met Chief Minister Raghubar Das at latter’s residence in Agrico on Monday morning.
After meeting the Chief Minister, Kunal while talking to the mediapersons said, “Seeing the pitiable situation of NH-33 I had planned indefinite strike before the Assembly on Monday. After CM Das received the information about the strike he called me and asked to meet and I was here today”.
This road connects Jharkhand to Odisha and the condition is such that people can’t walk leave about driving on it.
MLA further said, “I explained Chief Minister about the situation of the road as to how worst it has become. He said that CM Das has assured to start the repairing work of the road before Durga Puja.
CM asked Secretary of Road Construction Department to start repair of NH-33 before Durga Puja from state government fund”, MLA added.
Kunal further said, villagers of eight village situated at Baharagora in NH-33 have developed breathing problems sue to dust from the road.
CM took this matter seriously and ordered Civil Surgeon to hold health camps in the villages and also said that water will be sprayed on the road with the help of tankers till the road is repaired.
JMM leader further informed that the condition of national highways is very poor and agriculture land in and around the highways are getting damaged owing to the dust coming from those highways, he said.
Sarangi said JMM would launch a movement if the highways are not repaired before the Durga Puja, as promised by the government.
Attacking BJP led Das government, MLA said state government has failed to attract investment during its last eight months of rule and not a single Memorandum of Understanding regarding new investment was signed.
