RAF jawans trigger three rounds of tear-gas in Munshi Mohalla

Jamshedpur, July 22: Some miscreants attempted to torch a stationary auto-rickshaw at Munshi Mohalla on the Post Office Road in Mango this afternoon.�

The Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawans had to open three rounds of tear-gas shells to disperse the�trouble makers.

Similarly, at Dhatkidih�under the Bistupur police station area�a group of local youths clashed with the police as the latter asked the former not to gather on the roadside as prohibitory order is in force.�Roads wore a deserted as shops and offices in the city were completelyon Monday night.

The protest started after a group of three bike-borne youths belonging to a particular community opened fire in the air at Gandhi Maidan in Mango where a fair was organized as a part of Eid celebrations on Monday night.

Soon after the trio tried to molest two girls near the Payal cinema and also flashed fire-arms to the local residents in adjoining Daiguttu locality.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Amitabh Kaushal and SSP Anoop T Mathew told reporters last night that six FIRs had been lodged and 103 people arrested in connection with the clashes.

An enquiry has been ordered to probe the clashes, Kaushal said adding that the probe would be done by the Kolhan Division Commissioner Arun and DIG R K Dhan.

Notably, the trouble�took place�between the two communities in Mango on Monday night when three bike-borne youths shot in the air at Mango’s Gandhi Maidan��where a fair, part of Id celebration, was on, allegedly tried to molest two girls near the Payal Cinema and then flashed firearms before residents of nearby Daiguttu locality.
