Jamshedpur, May 15: Vivekanand Milan Sangh and Sonar Tori Cultural Organisation jointly celebrated 155th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at Jayanti Pratham Nagar in Parsudih.
Chief guest for the occasion was Zila Parishad vice-chairperson Rajkumar Singh and Zila Parishad member Sudipto Dey. The event was inaugurated by Rajendra Shah ‘Raj’ and members of Bang Bandhu Organisation by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore.
At the first phase of the program, Rajkumar Singh and Rajendra Shah ‘Raj’ shared light on the life of Gurudev and his compositions.
At the event under the dierction of Rupa Haldar, secretary of Sonar Tori Music School, students presented songs and dance which made the crowd ecstatic. Rajendra Shah ‘Raj’ presented Rabindra Sangeet in Bengali which elated the gathering.
At the event BJP leader Pankaj Sinha, Tridib Chatraj, Aparna Guha, Rajesh Rai, Samir Haldar, Debu Chatterjee, Sandip Sinha Choudhary, Raja Roy, Sori Banerjee and others were present.
