R.V.S. Academy students visit Jharkhand Silk Institute for educational tour

Jamshedpur, Oct 23: Thirty students from R.V.S. Academy, accompanied by four teachers, visited the Jharkhand Silk Technology Development Institute in Chaibasa for an educational tour aimed at providing practical exposure to the tussar silk production process. This initiative was organized to help students understand the traditional craft, which is a key part of Jharkhand’s heritage and economy.

The students observed every step of the silk production, from silkworm rearing to the extraction and weaving of tussar silk. Experts at the institute shared insights into sustainable production methods, highlighting the skill and dedication involved in this craft.

R.V.S. Academy Chairman, Binda Singh, expressed his satisfaction with the tour’s success, stating, “Experiential learning is the foundation of holistic development. Such visits help students connect with their heritage and understand the importance of sustainable industries.”

Principal Visha Mohindra added, “Our goal is to ensure that students learn not only from textbooks but also through real-world experiences. These tours help them appreciate the cultural richness of our state and understand how traditional practices can be integrated with modern education.”

The tour offered students a hands-on understanding of the silk industry, giving them valuable insights into the local economy and traditional crafts.
