Jamshedpur: In a significant move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and railway infrastructure, Arun Joshi, Member of the Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC), South Eastern Railway, met with Ajay Kumar at the General Manager’s office in Kolkata today. During the meeting, Joshi submitted a detailed memorandum outlining key demands related to train operations and passenger amenities.
Among the major proposals was the introduction of Amrit Bharat Version-3 trains on crucial routes, including Ranchi–Jaipur, Shalimar–Pune via Tatanagar, and Hatia/Ranchi–Pune.
These routes, witnessing growing passenger demand, are expected to benefit significantly from improved connectivity and modern train services.
The memorandum also emphasized the urgent need to expedite the redevelopment of Tatanagar Railway Station and to augment coach capacity in popular trains such as the Tatanagar–Buxar Express and Ispat Express by increasing Sleeper and 3 AC Economy coaches.
Moreover, the inclusion of an AC First Class coach in the Gitanjali Express was proposed to cater to premium travelers.
Further, Joshi highlighted the necessity of extending general waiting list ticket availability up to Ranchi in the Dhanbad–Coimbatore Amrit Bharat Express to ease ticketing challenges faced by passengers.
Accompanied by advisors Shashank Shekhar Swain and Somanko Tiru, along with rail enthusiast Soham Das, Joshi underscored that the rising passenger volume in Jharkhand demands proportional expansion in railway services.
He noted that these initiatives would not only improve commuter experience but also contribute to regional growth and connectivity.
