Call to extend G-Town Ground Jamshedpur timings gains momentum

Jamshedpur: BJP leader and Jugsalai Municipal Council ward councillor Anil Modi has strongly urged Tata management to extend the closing time of the G-Town Open Gym and Ground in Bistupur by an hour, allowing public access until 10 PM.
Highlighting the issue, Modi stated that a significant number of visitors to the ground come from the Jugsalai area, which is primarily a commercial hub. Most traders and business owners are unable to wrap up their work before 9 PM, leaving them with little to no time to utilize the facility under the current schedule.
He emphasized that the existing time limit is inadequate for working professionals, traders, and students, who typically find time for fitness and recreational activities only in the evening after a long day. Due to restricted hours, many are deprived of accessing this vital public space.
Modi further noted that the G-Town Open Gym and Ground is not merely a fitness zone but has evolved into a key center for promoting healthy living, mental well-being, and social harmony. Every day, a large number of youths, women, and senior citizens visit the ground to engage in exercise, yoga, and sports activities.
Appealing to Tata authorities, he called for a people-centric decision to extend the operational hours until 10 PM, ensuring wider accessibility.
He added that such a move would significantly boost health awareness and serve as a progressive, public-friendly initiative for the city.
