Pulse polio campaign launched at Sadar Hospital

Seraikela: The deputy collector of Seraikela-Kharsawan Akansha Ranjan led the pulse polio campaign at the Sadar Hospital in Seraikela on Sunday.

She called on parents and guardians to bring along children up to five years of age to get their wards vaccinated against polio.

She said the state health department was running the campaign on a war-footing across East Singhbhum. Many health department officials and staff were present on the occasion. They included the chief medical officer Dr AP Sinha, Dr KK Sehgal, Dr Jujharu Manjhi and Dr Pradip Mahato.

A large number of children were administered polio vaccine till this evening. A catch-up round will also be conducted to ensure cent per cent vaccination in the district, officials said.
