Jamshedpur, Feb 6: The discovery of tiger paw prints in Beldih Panchayat, Bodam has raised concerns in the area, indicating the presence of a tiger that has been roaming the Dalma forests. On Thursday morning, paw prints were found in Jarki and Gobarlad Tola, sparking alarm among villagers who immediately notified the forest department. A team from the department promptly arrived on-site and began investigating the matter.
Locals believe that the tiger, after hunting cattle in Tankocha forest, Chandil a few days ago, may have ventured into the Bodam area since Wednesday evening. In nearby Gobarghusi Panchayat of Patamda, the fear of the tiger has led to a decrease in the number of wood pickers, particularly among women who have stopped venturing into the forest. Meanwhile, shepherds and villagers have taken to carrying bows and arrows for safety and to ward off the tiger. Prabodh Kumar Mahato, the representative of Pasans in Beldih Panchayat, has urged locals to remain vigilant.
