
Jamshedpur, Oct. 23: SGFI state level boxing championship for the first time was held Namda Community Centre from 22 to 23 October. The championship organised by East Singhbhum district boxing association under the aegis of Jharkhand Boxing Association saw participation of 63 boxers in U14 and U17 boys category. Total of 13 technical officers helped smooth conduct of the event. The successful boxers will represent Jharkhand in National boxing championship 2019 to be held at Karnal in Haryana (U14) from 25 to 29 November. The U17 boys will represent the state in national championship to be held at Aizwal, Mizoram from 19 to 22 November. At the concluding function on Wednesday, East Singhbhum district sports officer Manmohan Prasad congratulated the pugilists and wished them luck for the upcoming tournament. Present on the occasion were district sports convenor SK Sharma, State Boxing Association’s assistant secretary Jagganath Rao, technical committee head JC Vyas, Officer Kripal Singh, Kundan Kumar Chandra, Surjeet Singh and others.
