Governor felicitates school toppers at Pratibha Samman Samaroh in Baharagora
Jamshedpur: Pratibha Samman Samaroh was organized by the former state president of BJP Dineshanand Goswami at Baharagora Shakha Maidan on Saturday. The chief guest of the occasion was the Governor of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu who felicitated the local school toppers and meritorious students and motivated them to do well.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said organizing such events helps motivate youngsters to do better and bring out their best skills before the world. She said the youths should try to become good human beings besides striving to achieve other goals like becoming scientist, civil servant or a skilled farmer.

Murmu said the students should attain highest level of education and inform the people about the various welfare schemes of the Central and state governments. She said the participation of people was essential to ensure the success of various development and welfare schemes.
The Governor said 115 districts were declared backward districts all over the country. In Jharkhand, 19 districts including East Singhbhum are backward, she said, adding further that the schools of the state were upgraded to ensure proper education of poor children.
Murmu said a degree college is being opened in every assembly constituency of the state. Later, degree colleges would be opened in each and every block, she said.
The Governor said the shortage of teaching staff in colleges would be solved by November this year. She said she had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded that a university should be opened in Baharagora.
Murmu said a committee had been formed in Jhumka in order to make the children all rounder. She said the people should cooperate with the government to ensure the progress of Jharkhand and the country.
The Governor later felicitated the topper students by giving them mementoes and letter of appreciation.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included the MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato, Potka MLA Menka Sardar, Ghatsila MLA Laxman Tudu, Zila Parishad chairperson Bulurani Singh, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and other district administration officials.
