Jamshedpur: Tensions flared as individuals attempted to encroach upon the land behind the Ram temple in Sundernagar, sparking outrage among the local community. On Saturday, heavy excavation work using a JCB machine was observed on the temple land, leading to public discontent and protests. In response to the situation, Mithun Chakraborty, a representative of the MLA and a leader from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), rushed to the scene to halt the ongoing excavation.
The commotion prompted those involved in the land excavation to flee the area. Mithun Chakraborty voiced his concerns to Circle Officer (CO) Manoj Kumar, making a verbal complaint about the incident. Accompanying him was Ashok Aggarwal, the President of the Sundernagar Durga Puja Committee. The MLA representative further declared that they intend to submit a written complaint to the Circle Officer on Monday.
Ashok Aggarwal, the Chairman of the Durga Puja Committee, emphasized that the land in question belongs to the temple trust, but certain individuals with ulterior motives are attempting to seize it. Mithun Chakraborty clarified that the temple trust had been disbanded previously for specific reasons, but it will now be reconstituted with the inclusion of enlightened members from the community. The collective goal is to safeguard the temple land, a resolution reached during discussions with the local residents.
