Jamshedpur: On Thursday, Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) supporters held a sit-in protest at the Tarapore School campus in Agrico against debarring students from attending two periods by making them stand outside for allegedly wearing religious Tilaks on their foreheads. The protesters alleged that the children were punished to dissuade them from following religious practices by simply putting on a Tilak on their forehead. The BJM activists locked the school gate and staged a sit-in protest. The Officer-in-Charge of Sitaramdera police station arrived on the scene, where tensions escalated between the police, school management, and BJM activists. The BJM protesters stated that they would also file a complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on the matter.
