Promotions await three IAS Officers to Principal Secretary and more in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Oct 21: The Jharkhand state government is gearing up for a series of promotions within the administrative ranks, which will see three IAS officers elevated to the position of Principal Secretary, in addition to several other promotions.
In this initiative, the state government has officially announced three vacancies for promotion to the prestigious position of Principal Secretary. The IAS officers in line for this promotion include Vinay Kumar Choubey, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Sunil Kumar, the Secretary of Road Construction, and Rahul Purwar, the Secretary of Higher Technical Education. All three officers belong to the 1999 batch and will be elevated to the Super Time Scale from the Central Government cadre.
Furthermore, Principal Secretary Rajiv Arun Ekka is set to be promoted to the esteemed rank of Chief Secretary. The government has initiated the process by requesting a vacancy for this significant role.

Additionally, promotions are in store for seven IAS officers who currently hold the position of Special Secretary. They will be promoted to the post of Secretary, with the effective date for all these promotions slated for January 1, 2024.

To facilitate this administrative reshuffling, the Personnel Department has formally submitted a letter to the Central Government, requesting a total of 11 vacancies to accommodate these promotions. Once the requisite vacancies are secured, the officers’ names will be deliberated upon in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms meeting, with recommendations then forwarded to the Central Government. Subsequently, the Central Personnel Department will issue an official notification regarding the promotions.
