Jamshedpur: Breast cancer awareness programme was organized at Shiksha Niketan School at Telco Colony on Saturday.
The chief guest of the programme was Dr Abhay Kumar of Tinplate Hospital. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Abhay Kumar jointly with Dr Amit Kumar and the school principal Rama Srinivas.
The chief guest said awareness and preventive measures could defeat the disease in its early stages.
He said girls and women be aware of the need to get themselves examined by experts in case they develop any sort of irregularity or tumour in their breasts.
The principal said the purpose of the programme was to make the students aware of their duties to keep track of their health.
