Ranchi, June 8: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren approved of the constitution of a one-member probe commission comprising retired chief justice of Jharkhand High Court Vinod Kumar Gupta to probe into the unnatural death of Jharkhand police sub-inspector Rupa Tirkey, who was posted as Sahebganj Mahila thana in-charge and allegedly committed suicide on May 3, 2021.
The retired chief justice Vinod Kumar Gupta has also served as chief justice in Uttarakhand High Court and Himachal Pradesh High Court. The probe commission has been given six months time to submit its findings.
However, the probe being done by Sahebganj police in the same case would continue as before.
