Nursery–LKG admission lottery begins in Jamshedpur, process to continue till Jan 16

Jamshedpur: The lottery process for Nursery and LKG admissions in private schools across the city began on Monday, January 5. According to the District Education Department, all schools have been instructed to conduct their admission lotteries by January 16, based on their convenience.

Supervisors Appointed

To ensure transparency, supervisors have been appointed for all schools conducting the lottery.

On the very first day, lotteries were held at Kerala Samajam Model School, Golmuri, and ADL Sunshine English School, Kadma. Both institutions conducted the process through an online lottery system.

Rakhi Jaiswal was appointed as the supervisor at Kerala Samajam Model School, while Shweta Kumari oversaw the process at ADL Sunshine English School. The lottery was conducted using dedicated software in their presence.

Members of the school management committees and parent representatives were also present during the process. The entire procedure was videographed, and officials said that in case of any dispute, the video footage would be reviewed. The results of the lottery will be officially declared on January 17.

Applications Open till January for Reserved Seats

Meanwhile, the application process for admission to 25 percent reserved seats under norms in private schools is currently underway. The process is being conducted entirely online through a dedicated portal developed by the district education department.

Providing details, District Education Superintendent Ashish Kumar Pandey said that the department is taking strict measures to ensure complete transparency in the lottery system. “Several schools have opted for online lotteries. If any complaint regarding irregularities is received, the entire process will be investigated, and strict action will be taken against the school management if found guilty,” he said.

As per official data, around 2,200 candidates have applied for admission under the reserved category so far. Earlier, the last date for submission of applications was December 30, but due to delays in the issuance of income certificates and to provide relief to parents, the deadline has been extended to January 10. Parents can now submit their applications until January 10.

The admission process is being closely monitored to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants in private schools across Jamshedpur.
