Priority is to establish better healthcare in the state: Jharkhand CM

Ranchi, Jan 7: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the State Government is making continuous efforts to establish hospitals, medical colleges, nursing colleges, health education in Jharkhand. 

Addressing the  annual Conference (AOICON 2022) organized by Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI) as  the chief guest in Ranchi on Friday, Soren said, “Success has been achieved on some plans in the health sector and some better action plans have also been proposed. In the coming few years, the state government is working with a commitment to make Jharkhand a separate identity in the field of health.”

The Chief Minister said that with limited resources since the initial phase of the global pandemic Covid-19, the government has worked to move forward. 

 The Chief Minister said that at present six medical colleges are established in the state and all these medical colleges are functional now. 

Along with this, the state government is preparing an action plan to build a big nursing center in the near future. Work is also being done for the strengthening of health services infrastructure in the state. The Chief Minister said that in the last few days, work has been done by various institutions to connect the girls here on a large scale by employing them in various hospitals of the state and the country. Now the youths here should also get a chance in the field of nursing, preparations are being made for this. It is our priority to provide employment to the boys here as male nurses.

The Chief Minister said that a better prospect and environment has been created by the state government for the investors to invest in the State through Industry Policy. 
“Many institutions taking advantage of the lucrative industry policy are willing to invest in Jharkhand. Many institutions related to healthcare have expressed their willingness to invest here. The state government also expects suggestions from all  doctors regarding changes in healthcare. Taking the suggestions received by you the government will prepare a further action plan,” said Soren. 
The chief minister expressed the hope that this conference of ENT doctors will prove to be a milestone for the state in the times to come. 
“The spread of corona infection has increased rapidly, due to which many people could not physically attend the venue and I also got a chance to meet you virtually. The role of the doctor in securing the life of a human being was important in the past, is now and will continue to be so. In the pandemic we have lost so many doctors and nurses while saving lives. I pay my tributes to all the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who have died in this pandemic,” said Soren. 

The Chief Minister said that government is moving to strengthen health services in rural areas as its priority. 
“An action plan is being prepared for how we can reach health services to the people living in remote rural areas. At present, work has been done to connect people to health services through motorbike ambulances, Mamta vehicles and government incentives in private vehicles etc. It is our endeavor to make the people of rural areas aware of health and bring them out of superstitious practices and challenges like scavenging,” said Soren. 
About 900 specialist doctors of Ear, Nose, Throat Disease (ENT) from all over the country participated in this annual conference organized at Mega Sports Complex, Khelgaon Ranchi on the topic ‘Need for Research for Improving Health Facilities and Effective Treatment’
