President Murmu in Jamshedpur: Inaugurates Ol Chiki Script Centenary

Jamshedpur: A historic and emotionally charged moment unfolded on Monday as President Droupadi Murmu arrived at the sacred Dishom Jaher at Karandih, marking a golden chapter in the cultural history of the region. As soon as the President reached the venue, the entire premises resonated with loud applause and traditional chants, reflecting deep respect and pride.

The President, accompanied by the Governor of Jharkhand Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren, jointly inaugurated the centenary celebrations marking 100 years of the Ol Chiki script. The ceremonial welcome on the stage was deeply moving and dignified, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

 

The atmosphere at Dishom Jaher echoed with the sounds of pipe band performances and the national anthem, creating an aura of patriotism and discipline. Students of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ School, Bangudda in Patamda, presented an impressive pipe band performance to welcome the President. The students also rendered the national anthem with melodious precision, filling the surroundings with national pride. The President acknowledged and appreciated the students with a warm smile, encouraging them for their performance.

President Murmu also offered prayers following the traditional rituals of nature worship practiced by the Marang Buru and Jaher Ayo faith, paying homage to the soil and tribal heritage of the land.

A strong presence of enthusiastic people was witnessed along the route of the President’s convoy from Sonari Airport to Dishom Jaher. As the convoy passed through Jugaslai Station Road, large crowds gathered on both sides of the road from early morning. People greeted the President with applause and slogans, capturing the historic moments on their mobile phones.

The arrival of President Droupadi Murmu at the sacred Dishom Jaher campus was a moment of immense pride and emotion for local residents. The visit was seen as a celebration of Adivasi culture, language, and heritage. For the people of the region, the presence of the country’s first citizen at their sacred site symbolised recognition, respect, and honour for their rich cultural legacy.
