Jamshedpur: The steel city is gearing up for a high-profile visit as President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive on February 26. During her visit, she will lay the foundation stone and participate in the Bhumi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) of the proposed Mahaprabhu Jagannath Temple at Marine Drive in Kadma.
Top Officials Inspect Site
On Monday, Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, SSP Kishore Kaushal, and local administrative heads, accompanied by senior officials, inspected the venue to review security and logistical arrangements. The DC consulted with the temple organizing committee to finalize the event flow and issued strict directives to ensure a seamless ceremony.
Land Allocation and Project Scope
DC Mittal confirmed that the State Government has allocated the land for the temple project after acquiring it from the Tata Steel lease area. This prime location on Marine Drive will soon house the grand Mahaprabhu Jagannath Temple, marking a major cultural milestone for the city.
A Frequent Guest
This marks President Murmu’s second visit to Jamshedpur in recent months, following her previous trip on December 29, 2025. Officials noted that the frequency of her visits underscores the city’s growing importance on the national map.
Security Blanket in Place
Security remains the top priority for the administration. SSP Kaushal stated that a massive deployment of police personnel is underway. From the arrival route to the Marine Drive venue, every point will be under strict surveillance to provide a foolproof security cover for the President.
