Baharagora: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and leader of Opposition Hemant Soren here on Saturday called on party workers to be prepared for elections.
Addressing an Assembly level meet of party workers at Netaji Park in Baharagora, he said the Narendra Modi government was making efforts for early general elections.
BJP has also started preparations for elections.
JMM also needs to be ready for the elections, he said.
Soren said the withdrawal of land law amendment bills by the Jharkhand governor was the result of vigorous opposition put up by the JMM.
He said the JMM was going to establish its foothold strongly all over the state in the coming elections.
Also present on the occasion, Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi said the party had given the slogans �Abki Baar Hamari Sarkar� and �Abki Baar Pachhattar Hazaar� for the elections.
He said he will not let the government open government liquor shops in his constituency. He praised the party workers for attending the programme despite heavy rains throughout the day.
The programme was also addressed by party MLA Champai Soren and district president Ramdas Soren. It was conducted by the block president Asit Mishra.
A vote of thanks was proposed by the central member of the party Aditya Pradhan.
Earlier, Hemant Soren was welcomed by a large number of party leaders who took out a motorcycle rally under the leadership of Kunal Sarangi
