Preparations in place for 358th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh in Jamshedpur

Grand Nagar Kirtan to be taken out from Telco Gurudwara on Jan 6

Jamshedpur, January 4: All preparations are in place for grand Nagar Kirtan to celebrate the 358th Prakash Parv of the tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj on January 6. The Nagar Kirtan will start from Telco Gurudwara Sahib.

Central Gurudwara Management Committee (CGPC) Pradhan (Chief) Sardar Bhagwan Singh, in a message to the Sangat, urged devotees to celebrate Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj’s birth anniversary with reverence and joy. He also emphasized the importance of educating children about Sikh history. In honour of Guru Maharaj, Bhagwan Singh appealed to the devotees to wear yellow or blue turbans and dupattas during the procession.

The Nagar Kirtan will depart from Telco Gurudwara Sahib at 11:30 AM and will traverse through Tata Motors Main Gate, Nildih Roundabout, ISWP Company, Tinplate, Golmuri, RD Tata Roundabout, and Kalimati Road, before culminating at Sakchi Gurudwara Sahib at 5:00 PM.

Sardar Shailendra Singh, Chairman of CGPC, encouraged the Sangat and other organizations to join the procession in large numbers, wearing saffron or blue turbans and dupattas, rather than simply observing the event.

Additionally, Langars (community kitchen) will be served throughout the day at the Gurudwaras across the city.

In order to welcome Palki Sahib, CGPC has appealed to all Gurudwara committees to set up decorative arches along the route of the procession. The Central Singh Naujawan Sabha has been assigned the responsibility of managing the traffic for the entire Nagar Kirtan, ensuring smooth and orderly movement.

The Central Stree Satsang Sabha, in a prior meeting, advised women (Bibis) to wear traditional attire and refrain from wearing plazzos or transparent clothes during the event.

Meanwhile, Central Naujawan Sabha Padhan Amrik Singh announced that the bursting of crackers from bullets will be strictly prohibited, and attendees will be encouraged to follow traffic rules.

The service of decorating the Palki Sahib has been entrusted to Bibi Kushaldeep Kaur, while Taranpreet Singh Bunny will monitor the Palki Sahib. Various groups will participate in the Nagar Kirtan, including horse riders, Gatka parties (Pagri Sikhlai, Sikh Wisdom, and Nihang Jathebandi), school groups, CGPC, Jagrati Manch, Nishan Sahib, the Panj Pyare Sahiban of Akali Dal, Sangat, Stree Satsang Sabha, Kirtan groups, and a sanitation team.

The procession will conclude with a warm and respectful welcome of Palki Sahib at Sakchi Gurudwara Sahib, where flowers will be showered upon the participants as a gesture of reverence.
