Jamshedpur, Jan 22: 37 Jharkhand Batalian NCC, Jamshedpur launched Dalma
cleanliness drive on Wednesday, the campaign was kicked off by Mountaineer Premlata Agrawal by
launching a banner.
On the occasion Padma Shri Premlata urged NCC cadets to provide full support to maintain
environment balance.
Commanding officer of 37 Jharkhand Battalion NCC, Lt. Colonel RK Sharma informed the cadets about the ill effects of polythene bags and plastic on the environment.
Cadets during the drive climbed Dalma mountain and collected all the plastic bottles, polythene bags which came their way and brought them down with them.
Cadets made the locals aware of the ill effects of plastic. At the drive 66 cadets from ABM College, Co-operative College and Karim City College, Jamshedpur participated.
The campaign was headed by Colonel Sharma. Rajkumar Udas, Sukhdev, Raghubir along with NCC cadets Rakesh Kumar, Vivek Kumar, Vikash Kumar and several others played important role during the drive.
