Jamshedpur : The city is all ser to host the International Champion ship Dog Show at the JRD Tata Sports Complex from January 24 to 26 for the first time.
The show will be held simultaneously with the annual 51st and 52nd championship dog show ,
which is also being organised by the Jamshedpur Kennel Club (JKC).
The event will be inaugurated by T V Narendran, managing director, Tata Steel. This year, a total of 400 entries have been received by the Club from cities like Jamshedpur, as well as
from cities as distant as Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ranchi, and Dhanbad.
“We are proud to play host to the 15th and 16th international dog show. It’s an international event of high repute,” said JKC president AM Misra at a press meet today.
According to him, the steel city has been selected by Federation Cynologique Internationale (France) to host the show.
JKC secretary P R Prasad added the show will be conducted in four rings. While the opening day (January 24) will be meant for obiedience show, the following two days will be reserved for all breed show.
The highlight of the show will be display of some of the rare breeds like Afghan hounds, Poodle Standard, Irish Setter, Giant Schnauzer besides popular breeds like Pugs , German
Shepherd, Rottweiler’s , Dobermans, Labrador and Great Dane.
