Jamshedpur, August 31: A distressing situation unfolded at MGM Hospital, the largest government medical facility in Kolhan, where a pregnant woman from Turamdih has been lying on the floor of the maternity ward since Wednesday. The woman arrived at the hospital at 8 am that day but faced severe neglect, including a lack of medical attention and a bed. Doctors eventually discovered that her child had died in the womb, but no action was taken to remove the deceased fetus or provide appropriate care.

For nearly 27 hours, the woman remained unattended on the floor. Her husband, Aryan Ho, pleaded with the doctors to at least remove the dead child to save his wife’s life, but his requests were ignored. The situation only changed after BJP leader Vimal Baitha intervened, lodged a complaint with the hospital superintendent, and raised the issue publicly. Following Baitha’s intervention, treatment began, but the incident has raised serious concerns about the hospital’s handling of such critical cases.
