Seraikela/Chandil: In a shocking incident, a mother-in-law killed her daughter-in-law with an axe and ran away. The incident took place on Sunday in Upar Jata village under Chowka police station area. At around 7 am in the morning, the mother, who was angry with her son’s love marriage, killed her pregnant daughter-in-law with an axe. According to the information, Deenbandhu Layak’s mother Geeta Layak had a fight with her daughter-in-law Bhavani Layak in the morning over some issue, after which the mother-in-law injured the daughter-in-law by hitting her with an iron axe.
The injured daughter-in-law Bhavani fell on the ground in a pool of blood.
After the incident, she was brought to the community health center Chandil by the family members, where doctors declared her dead. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Chowka police station in-charge Dharmraj Singh reached the village and started investigation. The accused Geeta Layak, has run away from the house.
According to the information, Deenbandhu Layak had brought Bhavani Layak home six months ago. They got married in the temple in April 2021. Since then there was a dispute going on in the family regarding love marriage.
