Jamshedpur, Aug 1: Devotees in large numbers today performed Rudrabhishek prayers at Uttameshwari Jyotirling of Lord Shiva at Jai Mata Di Shakti Darbar in Harharguttu TRF Colony. The holy event was organized by religious organization Atiuttam Shakti Pariwar. The Rudrabhishek worship was performed by Raja Surya Dev Uttam Parmahans.
Prayers for a good monsoon, world peace and prosperity were performed on the occasion. The 108 names of Lord Mahadev were chanted along with other Vedic mantras. The Jyotirling was bathed with fruit juice, coconut water, honey, sugarcane juice. Herbs and roots were also used during the ritual.
The priest explained that according to religious beliefs, Rudrabhishek worship pleased Lord Shiva and He granted all the wishes of His devotees. Consecrated food was then distributed among the devotees.
The organizers included Uttam Kumar, Kullu, Divyanshi, Kaushalya Devi, Nirmala Devi, Priya, Kishan, Susmita, Reshmi, Ankita, Lakshmi, Pankaj, Prem, Rishi, Rustam Kumar and others.
