‘Prayas – ek Pahal’ an SNSVM initiative for women’s empowerment

Ghatshila, May 11: ‘Prayas – ek Pahal,’ an initiative for women’s empowerment was instituted at Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir (SNSVM) Ghatshila in 2016 to pave the way for self reliance of helpless women, informed School Manager, Dr Prasenjit Karmakar. Chief guest Captain Dr RK Chaudhary, Principal of Ghatshila College and Professor Indal Paswan were present on the occasion organized for distribution of certificates among women who were benefitted under the project.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr RK Chaudhary lauded the school’s effort to make women self reliant through the project, ‘Prayas – ek Pahal.’ Professor Indal Paswan too congratulated the SNSVM management for launching the ambitious project to make women, especially from financially weak backgrounds, self reliant.

SNSVM Manager, dr Prasenjit Karmakar informed that thus far 150 women had benefitted through the scheme. He said, “The school management will always try to make women, the important pillars of our society stronger, through persevering efforts.”

 Principal of Ghatshila College, Dr. Chaudhary and Professor Indal Paswan distributed certificates among all women beneficiaries of the project, ‘Prayas – ek Pahal.’ All the women participants present on this occasion expressed their gratitude to the school’s managing committee for making them self-reliant.

‘Prayas’ Trainer, Pratima Dutta encouraged her students to face difficulties unflinchingly as that was the mantra of success.

 School Management Committee member RG Chaumal, Academic In-charge S R Dutta, Deputy Academic In-charge Saswati Rai Pattanaik, Teacher In-charge Anup Kumar Pattanaik, Nilima Sarkar, Prayas In-charge P Leela and Trainer Pratima Dutta were present in the program.

SNSVM Deputy Academic In-charge Saswati Roy Pattanaik offered the vote of thanks.
